What is a PhonePe QR code?
A PhonePe QR code is simply a UPI QR code — PhonePe is built on the Unified Payments Interface (UPI), so the code encodes a standard UPI deep-link of the form upi://pay?pa=[VPA]&pn=[name]&am=[amount] — where pa is your Virtual Payment Address (your UPI ID, e.g. yourname@ybl), pn is the payee name, and am is an optional pre-filled amount. When a customer scans it inside PhonePe, the app opens with your details already filled in.
Because it follows the NPCI standard, the very same PhonePe QR also works with every other UPI app — Google Pay, Paytm, BHIM, Amazon Pay, CRED and more. Money moves directly from the customer's bank account to yours with zero MDR, so there are no per-transaction fees and no POS machine is required.

How do I create a PhonePe QR code?
Sign up on Photon QR, click Create QR, choose "UPI Payment", enter your UPI ID (your VPA like yourname@ybl for PhonePe), add your business name, and optionally pre-fill an amount. Download the QR as PNG and print or display it. Because PhonePe uses the standard UPI format, the same code works for PhonePe and every other UPI app.
Is a PhonePe QR code the same as a UPI QR code?
Yes. PhonePe runs on UPI, so a PhonePe QR is a standard UPI QR code. Any code Photon QR generates is read by PhonePe as well as Google Pay, Paytm, BHIM, Amazon Pay and CRED — you do not need a separate PhonePe-only code.
Do I need a PhonePe Business account?
No. You only need a UPI ID (VPA). That can be your personal PhonePe UPI ID (e.g. number@ybl) or any bank UPI ID. Customers paying you will see your name in their PhonePe app when they scan.
Is there a fee to accept PhonePe payments?
No — UPI payments have zero MDR (Merchant Discount Rate) for merchants. Money goes directly from the customer's bank to yours, and Photon QR does not charge per transaction.
Can I set a fixed amount in the PhonePe QR?
Yes — enter a fixed amount when creating the QR. Customers who scan will see the amount pre-filled in PhonePe (or whichever UPI app they use). They can still edit it unless their app locks it.
What if I change my UPI ID or bank account?
Just update the UPI ID in your Photon QR dashboard. The printed PhonePe QR never changes — it redirects through Photon QR, so your new UPI ID takes effect immediately without reprinting.
Can I track how often my PhonePe QR is scanned?
Yes — Photon QR logs each scan with city, device and timestamp. Note that scan tracking records when the QR is opened, not individual payment completions — payment confirmation comes from PhonePe or your bank.
